Restaurant-like French Fries at Home

Ingredients

  • Potato- 4 (Chipsona)
  • Salt – 4 tsp
  • Oil to fry
  • Salt, Red chili powder, Chat Masala, Coriander Leaves
  • Kitchen Products:
  • French Fry Cutter 
  • Measuring Cup & Spoon Set
  • Kitchen Weight Scale 
  • 500gms Instant Yeast (keep frozen in an airtight container)
  • Pizza Screen (3 pack – 6,7,8 inches)
  • Parchment Paper 
  • Non-Stick Pan 
  • Whipping Cream (You can get whipping cream powder from Amazon)
  • Oven For Baking (28 liters)

Method

  • To make scrumptious french fries at home, peel all the potatoes and cut them into long finger shapes. 
  • Now take clean water in a big bowl and wash the cut potatoes thoroughly to remove the surface starch. 
  • Once the water gets cloudy, change it and clean the potatoes with fresh water. 
  • Once again, wash the potatoes with clean water. Now you will not get clean water even after washing the potatoes in it. It means now the potatoes are good to use. Keep the potatoes in the same water.
  • Add 4 spoonfuls of salt to the water and mix it. 
  • Keep the potato bowl on high flame. Remember not to boil the water. Turn the flame sim before the water reaches its boiling point. Stir the potatoes in between. This process removes the extra starch and sugar from the potatoes. 
  • Let the potatoes rest on the lowest flame for 15 minutes. 
  • Now take fresh water and transfer all the potatoes to it. Boil the potatoes on high flame for another 6-7 minutes or until the potatoes get soft and little cooked. Stir in between. 
  • Take a clean cloth and spread the potatoes on it to dry. It will take about one hour. 
  • Now take a pan and heat oil in it to deep fry the potatoes. 
  • Once the oil gets heated, fry the potatoes in it in batches. Fry it on medium flame. 
  • Next, fry the potatoes until crispy. It will take about 5 minutes. Remove the fries when they start turning golden. 
  • Now freeze the fries for at least 6 hours to remove the extra moisture from the potatoes. 
  • Deep fry the french fries again until golden brown or about 1 minute. 
  • Take the fries out in a bowl. Immediately add chaat masala and salt to it. Stir the fries to mix the spices.
