Buy Hugo Boss slippers for Rs. 8990! What?
The internet is shocked after discovering that fashion brand Hugo Boss is selling regular slippers for Rs. 8990 on its website.
Selling quirky objects at exaggerated prices in the name of fashion is a common practice today. High-end brands are sucking consumers’ money by selling undeserving stuff for an unreasonably high price.
This time, the elite fashion brand Hugo Boss has drawn criticism for selling everyday slippers for an obscene Rs. 8990 on its website. It is world-famous for its Haute Couture.
On Twitter, many users criticized the brand for selling ordinary items at inflated prices, while others started a meme trail saying that this highly-expensive footwear resembles their bathroom slippers.
Many social media users stated they do not pay more than Rs. 150 for these ordinary blue slippers. A user says that their Paragon slippers for Rs. 100 are better than this one.
Another user tweeted, “In small-town weekly bazaars, people get it for Rs. 50.”
Hugo Boss is not the only brand in this race. A few days earlier, Balenciaga came to light for launching trash bags for $1800 (approximately Rs. 1,42,652). Models ramp-walked holding this trash pouch in their hands.
