How to Meditate at Home?

Is it possible to meditate at home with all the hustle and bustle of everyday life? 

Unlike what you may have heard, it is easy to meditate at home despite your family and all the activities going on around you.

Meditation is the practice of quieting the mind for a significant period, typically ranging from 15 to 45 minutes. And trust us – this can be done at the comfort of your home! All you need to do is to find a quiet place, away from distractions of your gadgets, kids, and nosy neighbors.

Decide a time to meditate

Try to meditate every day at the same time, only with a different schedule on weekends when you have other important things to do.

Warm-up

It is a great idea to warm-up before you begin the meditation session. Doing this will improve your blood circulation and also will make your body feel more active. Aside from this, warm-ups will help you sit steadily for a longer time.

Learn the meditation posture

  • Whether you prefer sitting on a chair or the floor with crossed legs, keep your spine and neck straight.

  • Place your hands on your lap with both palms facing up.
  • Curl your tongue to make the tip rest against the roof of the mouth, just behind the front teeth. The tongue position helps to prevent excessive salivation which occurs when the mind calms down.
