Accenture India Uncovers Scam! Fires Employees With Fake Experience Letters

In a shocking discovery, Accenture’s India unit fired several employees. The software giant unearthed a scam where employees forged documents and experience letters to land a job at the company. 

In a statement to The Hindu, Accenture India said, “We have discovered an effort to use documentation and experience letters from fraudulent companies to obtain offers of employment from Accenture in India… We have exited people who we confirmed took advantage of this scheme. We have taken action to ensure that there will be no impact on our ability to serve our clients.”

As of now, it is not clear how many employees were sacked. However, the Twitter conversation suggests the firm may have let go of thousands on this count.

It is also reported that Human Resources managers are now reviewing the experience letters and other documents of recent hires, especially those hired during the pandemic boom.

The news comes amid the IT trends of moonlighting or employees with side gigs. Just a while back, Wipro did massive layoffs, citing moonlighting.
