Oily Skin – How to Say No to Chip-Chip?

Who likes oily skin

I believe we can’t even find one person who will vouch for the chip-chip.

Oily skin is caused by the overproduction of sebum glands. Moreover, sweating can add fuel to the fire and cause your skin to look shiny because of the lethal combination. A lot of people suffer from oily skin and most of them make the same mistake, skipping moisturizer.

People with oily skin usually believe that the natural oils are enough and they do not need moisturizer. If you are one of them, you need to watch out.

Similar to other skin types, oily skin also requires a thorough skincare regime. With the right products and proper skincare, you can have the fresh-looking skin you want and say bye to the chip-chip.

So, without further ado let’s see how you can stay away from oily skin.

Easy Skincare Routine for Oily Skin Beauties

What To Do in the Morning?

A good skincare routine creates a balance between morning and night rituals. In this section, we are giving you the perfect morning skincare routine for your oily skin

  • Step 1: Cleansing

Of course, cleaning your face thoroughly should be the first thing you should do in the morning.

Start your day with a good cleanser and clean your face in circular motions to get rid of all the debris and dirt that has been accumulated through the night. Opt for a gentle, lightweight, non-comedogenic, sulfate-free, and fragrance-free cleanser.

Cleaning your face with a proper cleaner will open up your pores that are the prime culprit for oily skin

  • Step 2: Toning

Now that your skin is squeaky clean, you need to prep it and balance the pH. Cleaning your face usually alters the pH balance of your skin for which toner is necessary.

Not only will a toner balance the pH but it will also deep clean your pores which were left out by the cleanser. Go for a toner that is alcohol-free and mild. Use a cotton pad and apply it all over your face.

  • Step 3: Moisturising

As we have already discussed the misconception of people with oily skin not needing moisturizer, we are here to break it for you.

The moisturization helps in nourishing your skin and improves hydration which is crucial for all types of skin. For a well-balanced morning skincare routine, do not skip this part. What you can do is look for a gel or water-based moisturizer instead of going for creamy ones.

  • Step 4: Sunscreen

The harmful rays of the sun can do more harm than good whether you are in the house or not. For oily skin, go for a sunscreen that is oil-free and has a matte finish. If you have sensitive skin, you can go for a mineral-based sunscreen.

Let’s Talk About The Night

The reason why morning and nighttime routines are clubbed differently is that your skin needs distinct attention during these times. The night is usually the best time to revitalize your skin and help it to recover from the damage caused during the day. You can amp up this process by using certain products for healthier, glowing, and no chip-chip skin.

  • Step 1: Make Up Removal and Cleansing

Tons of makeup products, dust, and debris throughout the day can take a toll on your skin. Hence, your nighttime routine should always start with cleansing.

At night, make sure to use micellar water so that you won’t add more oil to your face. Remove your makeup with micellar water and clean the face with your regular cleanser. This is called double cleansing which is highly needed at night. It makes sure that no dirt, pollutant, or makeup product is left on your skin.

  • Step 2: Toning

Similar to morning, toning is the step you should never forget. A lot of people consider it waste but you will see the results once you adapt to it.

Pour some toner on a cotton pad and dab it all over your face, do not rub it. Again, make sure that you are going for an alcohol-free toner. After dabbing, let it rest on your skin for a few minutes before taking the next step.

  • Step 3: Spot Treatment or Serum

Spot treatment or serum is perfect for addressing specific skin concerns. Depending on your skin condition you can go for the right product. For instance, if you have dull or acne-prone skin, you can opt for a brightening serum with vitamin C

Apply a little amount of serum on your skin and wait for at least a minute or two before moving on to the next step.

  • Step 4: Eye Cream

A nighttime skincare routine is incomplete without an eye cream. The area around your skin is sensitive and requires special attention as it is also the first place to show signs of aging. Applying a good eye cream will help you fight wrinkles, dark circles, and puffiness.

  • Step 5: Moisturise

Finally, the last step at night should be moisturizing. This makes sure that your skin is soft, healthy, and supple when you wake up. Again, go for a night cream that is nongreasy, nonoily preferably with a water-like consistency.

Takeaway

Oily skin is common but you can shy away from greasiness by following the above-mentioned steps. We would love to hear how it turned out for you. Also, stay tuned with us because more for you in our store.
